Tamang Heritage Trail is the recently opened trekking route in Langtang region. Previously a restricted area near the Tibetan border, the Tamang heritage trekking trail Rasuwa offers a glance of Himalayan life style and culture. Where life, culture, and crafts have remained unchanged since the beginning of the settlement. The trekking route offers stunning mountain Views of Langtang and s wilderness experience of beautiful landscapes flat meadows, hot springs and rhododendrons forests. The trek route can be tailored to trekkers' needs is operated as a camping or home stay. The trail starts from Syabrubeshi and passes through Goljung, Gatlang, Thuman, Timure, Briddim, and back to Kathmandu via Syabru besi.
By jeep or local bus, which will take around 12 hours. Overnight in guesthouses
Walking takes around 5 hours overnight camping. We cross Bahundanda pass (Rongga Bhanjyang; (2180 m)) Gotlang is a lovely tradition village the largest Tamang settlement in this area. After 45 min of walk to trek uphill you can reach to peaceful and beautiful Parwatikunda which exist nearby Gumba.
The day we have to walk quite long (about 6 hours). After a morning trek from Gotlang village we are followed to delightful line of stone chortens down to the valley. After an hour walk descend we cross the river through suspension bridge before Chilime village (1760 m). we climb steeply through tea houses at Charka and Gonggang (2230 m). Here we enjoy natural hot spring bath in Tatopani: means hot water
We can climb 560 m via the settlement and gumba of Barimdang (2848 m). In this day after three hours walk, we can reach Nagthali Ghyang. In clear weather, the view is beautiful of Lantang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Paldor peak and Saljung mountains. Around 6 hours walking. Camping overnight.
We hike early morning to Tharuche for clean view of mountains. In this day we descend from Nagdhali to steeply 820 meters we cross the forest to the pleasant Tamang village of Thuman. In Thuman, there is a small gumba and few houses. about 7 hours of walk.
